Ameerah continued to work as an assistant throughout high school and college and worked her way up from assistant to teacher and is currently the Director of the program. In January of 2006 Ameerah was hired by the Elizabeth Board of Education as a Substitute teacher and currently is the Vice Principal at School 27 in Elizabeth NJ.

Her family has taught her; to grow she must have good roots. Ameerah has an impeccable family who has helped mold her from her grandmother to her mother and now she is doing the same for her daughter. To know Ameerah is to know the positive energy she exudes and the commitment she makes to seeing the best in people. Ameerah is the definition of the change you want to see in the world. She is the person who takes action to affect her community. She tries to make every decision with love and care because she feels the world needs more of it. Although she’s dedicated more than half of her life to the City of Elizabeth as an educator, she still takes time to be a mother, a daughter, a granddaughter, a sister, a niece, a cousin and a friend.
